100 Days of AP529
100 Days? Are you kidding me?
So, here we are! ARMY Project 529 is 100 days old, and reflecting on this important milestone in Korean culture has me feeling emotional. When we launched this project, we had a vision—to spread love, positivity, and support while our seven are away serving their country. And wow, have we done just that! Every single day has been filled with moments of inspiration and connection.
What started as a simple book club concept grew into a beautiful website with daily content, a shop with fun merchandise (all proceeds go to the project's operation), an awe-inspiring map where over 4200 members of ARMY in 143 countries and territories have pinned their location so they can be found by other ARMY looking to make connections—and new website features are on the way! We are always looking for new ways to connect ARMY with BTS content and each other.
We’ve found a presence on Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, and, of course, TikTok where we hold two lives per week. We are also on Discord, where the team holds watch parties, deep dives into content, and hangs out via video in “study hall.” A true community has been formed, and every day I’m in awe when I watch all of the interaction.
Patricia, Christina, Quince, Doc, Katie, and myself—together, we've poured our hearts and souls into making ARMY Project 529 a success. From late-night planning sessions to early morning meetings, we've been there for each other every step of the way. Each member brings unique talents and perspectives, creating a dynamic and unstoppable force for the good of each BTS member and ARMY. I couldn’t be more thankful they came into my life as teammates and, more importantly, friends.
I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and pride for everything the Admin Team and all the other volunteer teams (Executive, Research, Graphics, Content Curation, Writing/Editing, Website, Social Media, Kansas City and Europe Meet-Up, Moderation) have accomplished. It takes so many people to make this project work, and we wouldn’t be here without every volunteer hour dedicated to each intricate piece of this amazing puzzle.
As we celebrate this 100-day milestone, let's remember that this is just the beginning. We can still do so much more together with 429 more days to go before the members of BTS return. So, let's keep spreading love, supporting each other, and positively impacting the world. Who is ARMY Project 529 to me?
Thanks to the amazing team of volunteers and all of you who participate in our lives, on Discord, on social media, or even lurk quietly in the background, AP529 has become a place of absolute joy for me. This is the place I come to when I need to be reminded that there are people out there who love, protect, and cherish others.
This project has created a place where I can passionately—and without judgment—talk about the seven men that I have grown to admire and adore so much, and it’s also offered that to every other person who has joined us.
I’m proud to know that we follow the example of Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jung Kook. We love and accept everyone—we are each other’s biggest cheerleaders and greatest encouragement to love ourselves.
