BTS FESTA
HISTORY

BTS Festa FAQs

  • BTS debuted on June 13, 2013, and every year since then, they have celebrated that anniversary with ARMY. During the ten (or so) days leading up to the 13th, they release tons of content as gifts for ARMY, typically culminating in a large livestream and/or performance on the last day. They call this yearly celebration “Festa”.

  • There is a well-known term in K-Pop called the “7-Year Curse”. It is used to refer to the common practice of Idol groups disbanding seven years after their debut. The reason this usually happens is that, since 2010, the maximum (and typical) length of a contract for a debuting Idol is seven years. A lot of groups run out of steam and don’t reach the level of success their company wanted for them, so their contracts don’t get renewed and they disband. With this in mind, it’s understandable that Idols like to celebrate each and every year of their careers, as they know longevity isn't necessarily guaranteed.

  • In recent years, Festa has included tons of online content for overseas fans, as well as an in-person event that K-ARMY or travelers can attend. There is typically at least one Weverse LIVE and one video streaming event (new or existing performances) for all ARMYs to enjoy together.

  • We dove deep into the archives of BTS history to bring you the official schedules for each Festa along with links to all of the released content, even some older content from obsolete platforms. We found translations and presented them alongside the content (in video format!) for people to access and understand easily. Finally, we wrote our own blogs summarizing the key events and themes for each Festa year.
