But let's start with a disclaimer: you won't find any impartial opinions here. We all LOVE Kim Taehyung. Actually, love isn't a strong enough word for how we feel about this man. He is adored. Kim Taehyung is a force to be reckoned with. Born on December 30, 1995 (the same year as his fellow 95 liner, Jimin), in Daegu, South Korea (the same hometown as SUGA), V's journey to stardom began with a deep-seated passion for music and performance, and although he attended a Big Hit audition just to support a friend, Tae was also pulled from the crowd and asked to try out. Whoever it was who spotted him—the world would like to thank you.

He's become the “Idol of Idols”—someone rookies and new trainees study to learn how to be a masterful performer. His stage presence is fierce, like a tiger, but offstage, Taehyung loves to laugh. He is sweet, thoughtful, and definitely marches to the beat of his own drum. He’s ARMY's Tae Bear, Jimin's best friend and soulmate, and Yeontan's (his adorable Pomeranian) proud papa. (Yeontan made his stage debut in 2023 during V’s Layover promotions and almost stole the show from his dad.)

No matter what his hair color at the moment, V captivates global audiences with his mesmerizing performances, soulful vocals and magnetic charisma. He has undeniable talent and charm—when he's on the screen, you can't take your eyes off of him. His sultry, signature baritone voice is impressive enough, but when he effortlessly slides up into a breath-taking falsetto that seems like it should be impossible for him, you realize how truly unique V is. And in so many different ways. Whether he’s showcasing his impeccable fashion sense, convincingly advertising coffee even though he hates to drink the beverage, showing off his incredible acting chops, or simply flashing that signature boxy smile of his, V leaves an indelible impression wherever he goes. He continuously reminds us that true greatness stems from authenticity, genuine connection, and an absolute child-like joy in all that life has to offer.
